The #KissOfLove group is campaigning for the right of people to demonstrate their emotion in public. They are protesting against moral policing by the state machinery, arguing it has no right to prevent persons from kissing in public should they feel the urge to do so. The #MadeSnana group wants to perform a traditional ritual that involves circumambulating a shrine by rolling on the floor over used banana leaves on which people of the brahmin community have eaten. Those protesting against Made Snana want the state machinery to intervene and prevent the performance of what they consider a debasing practice. If love is a wonderful emotion, faith is a noble feeling. Surely, it is equally the democratic right of both groups of people to perform an act they believe in, however appalling it may be for a variety of reasons to those who do not see things the same way?
