Where is the world going?

With judges on the American Idol being so insensitive as to provoke a youngster to commit suicide right outside their residence,

with reality shows testing the ‘endurance’ of participants to be degraded, denigrated, shamed like a  …. oh, well, a comparison eludes me ….

and the latest …. a brothel in Europe advertised, for a lark, that those customers who agreed to have their name tatooed on their arm would get free ‘service’ for life.  Imagine their surprise when more than forty men took them up on their ‘offer’!  These guys are now running around with the name of the brothel tatooed on their arms in huge blue letters, brazenly advertising their own profligacy besides being mobile adverts of the institution they patronize.

With all these things beyond the pale of my imagination actually happening all around me, I’m just limply, lamely, stupidly laidback, simply asking: Where is the world going?  Or another variation of it: What is the world coming to?  Any ideas?
